Olest Luc Noel

He was the loving patriarch of the Noel family who lived a selfless life, dedicated to helping family, friends, and basically anyone in need. His generous and kindhearted nature has endeared him to many. Olest Luc Noel, age 70, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

Olest started his family life in the city of Newark, New Jersey before settling in the suburbs of Lakewood. He worked for The Ford Motor Company in Edison, NJ for over 3o years. After retiring, he worked as a part time bus driver in the Lakewood School District. He was also an activist who fought on the platform of equal rights, especially in the immigrant Haitian community.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Agnes Noel; and his siblings, Leonard and Uzelaine. Surviving are his 5 children: Michael (Lakamy), Suzanne, Kevin (Simone), Gregory (Angela) and Uzelaine (Jonathan); 11 grandchildren: Nadashia, Michael Jr., Joshua, Amaya, Olivia, Eva, Jamarc, Xavier, Sanaya, Elijah, and Emmanuel; siblings: Adelina, Lucner (Lerise), Dominique (Carmen), Rigobert (Eliana), Marie Claudette (Christian), Albert, Marieange, Wilbur, Joseph, Lumack, Parfait, Philemon, Paul, Osvaldo, Amos (Yolette), Solange, Jean Claude; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Olest has had a lasting impact on all of us because of the way he lived his life. His legacy includes: an unconditional love and support of family, an amazing ability to develop friendships, an emphasis on the importance of education and the absolute requirement to give back and help those in need.
