Pat Aiello, age 85, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Aiello was born in Bronx, NY on January 23, 1929, and he was the son of the late Giuseppa and Giuseppe Aiello. After being raised in the Bronx, Pat was a resident of Somers, NY before moving to Toms River, NJ in 1995. He retired from a 35 year career in financial services with American Home Products in New York, NY. Pat served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. Proud to be known in a local publication as a “flashy fielding sharp hitting shortstop”, he was a lover of baseball and football throughout his life. Husband of his beloved late wife Antonia; brother of the late Lena Giordano; and Uncle of the late Anthony Giordano, he is survived by his two sons, Joseph Aiello and his companion Lynda Hammond of Jackson, NJ, and Michael Aiello and his wife Kimberly of South Salem, NY; a brother, Sal Aiello and his wife Kathy; three grandchildren, Lauren Aiello, Catherine Aiello, and Michael Aiello, Jr.; two nieces and a nephew, Lisa Bayer and her husband James, Bruce Aiello, and Maria Giordano; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in the Mausoleum Chapel at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
