

Patricia Bodnar, age 93, of Lakewood NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at HMH Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was born on May 10, 1933 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Helen and Patrick Thorpe.
Pat will be remembered for her generosity, her fun-loving nature, and her Halloween costumes. She was predeceased by her husband, William Bodnar, in 2001; and by her brother Warren Thorpe and sister Edna Becker. She is survived by her three children, Patricia Cottrell and husband George, Pamela Bodnar and husband Dr. James Ingaglio, and William Bodnar and wife Megan; and her three grandchildren, Kaytlyn Marie Cottrell, Sally Ann Cottrell, and Corporal William James Bodnar, U.S. Marine Corps; and her sister Lynn Powell, age 96.
When Pat first started out in the workforce, she was a Computer Operator for IBM. She was very proud to have been in computers so early on. After raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, her favorite job was working at AAA in the travel section. She was an avid traveler herself, having been to every state in the U.S., and got so much joy out of making TripTiks to help others in their travels. Her favorite volunteer work was delivering meals to homebound people with Meals on Wheels. She lived her entire life in her favorite state, New Jersey. Her last home was in Covington Village in Lakewood, NJ where she loved to socialize at the pool and clubhouse and play the dice game Left Right Center with her friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 11, 2026, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701
