
Patricia Dubrowski, 84, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Sunday at her home.Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a resident of Staten Island, NY before moving to Lakewood 17 years ago. She was a parishioner of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Brooklyn from the time of her christening through her wedding, and she attended the parish school system with her late husband. She was later active at Blessed Sacrament Church in Staten Island. As an active volunteer for Girl Scouts of America, she was both an award recipient and former neighborhood committee chairperson. Patricia received her BA from the College of Staten Island with highest honors in English and American studies and received the Phi Beta Kappa award. As a resident in Leisure Village, she was a member of the Friends of O.L.V., the O.L.V. Irish American Club, and a volunteer for the O.L.V. Library. She was a member of the Lakewood Senior Citizens Club & Caregivers, the Ocean County Republicans, and a member of the Altar Guild for St. Mary of the Lake Parish. Wife of the late William A. “The Candyman” Dubrowski, she is survived by her 4 daughters and their spouses, Frances Dubrowski & David Buente of Washington, DC, Patricia & Frank Vento of Marlboro, Madeline Dubrowski & Michael Rifkin of Phoenixville, PA, and Barbara & John Hotchkiss of Matawan, NJ; 11 grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Holy Family RC Church, 1139 E. County Line Rd., Lakewood, NJ08701. Entombment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a veteran’s organization of one’s choice.
