Patricia Rogers Ward

Patricia Hinck Rogers, age 69, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her residence. Patricia was born in Long Branch, NJ on October 16, 1945, and she was the daughter of the late Virginia L. (Hartigan) and George W.T. Hinck, Sr. Patricia was raised in Sea Bright, NJ, attending Red Bank Catholic Highs School graduating in 1963 and she was a resident of Lakewood, NJ for over a decade, before moving to Toms River, NJ 14 years ago. After an early career as a commercial loan officer for several area banks, she became a self-employed real estate appraiser. She was a member of the Society Real Estate Appraisers. As an enthusiast of swimming and camping, she is remembered for her love of the ocean. Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Robert W. Ward; two daughters, Terri Rogers and her partner Chris Kelber and Tamia Ward and her husband Gerhard Frenz Jr; a sister, Ginnie Hinck and her dear friend Bob Gatteli; 2 brothers, John Hinck and his wife Jenn and Robert Hinck and his wife Ann; and 2 grandchildren, Patrick Dockery and Samantha Rogers and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her late parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth A. Rogers and a brother, George W.T. Hinck, Jr. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Metro NJ Chapter, Aspen Corporate Park 1, 1480 U.S. Highway 9 North, Suite 301, Woodbridge, NJ 07095; the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Community Medical Center Foundation-Van Dyke Hospice Program, PO Box 2002, Toms River, NJ 08754.
