

Paula Montorio, age 78, of Toms River New Jersey passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 24, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband Ralph, and a son Michael and his fiancé Desiree Demuro and a daughter Christina and her fiancé Christopher Brembor, as well as a granddaughter Paige Fernandez. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Kalicki of Chicago, Illinois and is survived by his widow Maryann, their son Jeff Kalicki with wife Jill and their three children Samantha, Harry and Miranda.
She was born in 1945 in Newark, NJ then her family moved to North Arlington where she attended North Arlington High School and was a member of the cheerleading squad. She later attended Berkeley Secretarial School.
In 1965 she married Ralph Montorio of North Arlington and resided there for several years before moving to Sayreville where they lived for 50 years. While living in Sayreville, Paula was an active member of the community serving in the PTA, the Sayreville Athletic Association and as a Democratic Committeewoman. She was a dedicated employee to the jobs she held at Chemical Bank, Bainbridge and Metro Service Group.
After retirement Paula and Ralph settled into the Lake Ridge Adult Community. While residing at Lake Ridge, Paula was an active member on numerous clubs and groups including the Womens Club, the Wine Club, and her favorite the Red Hat Society. Together Paula and Ralph enjoyed many activities, events and parties and met so many lifetime friends in the Lake Ridge Community.
Above all else, Paula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She adored her family, especially her grandchild, who lit up her world. She will be greatly missed by so many lives she has touched. Her kindness, gentleness, and love for her family helped sustain her until the end.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 27 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at D’Elia Funeral Home, Lakewood. A funeral service will be offered 10:30am on Friday, April 28 at the D’Elia Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
