Phillip was born and raised in New York City moving to Staten Island, NY, Glendale, CA for four years, Scotch Plains, NJ for 24 years and finally settling in Toms River, NJ for the past 23 years. He worked as a stock broker for PaineWebber/UBS for many years. Phillip was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church in Scotch Plains and St. Luke's in Toms River, where he was an active member of chorus and a Eucharistic Minister. Phillip was an active member of the Lake Ridge community, Knights of Columbus Council 1662 of Staten Island, NY, TALC group of friends, and an avid Giants and Yankees fan. However, his true passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a passionate storyteller, food enthusiast and talented dancer. Phillip also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife and family and flying kites at the beach. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all.
Phillip is predeceased by his parents, Rosaria and Phillip Thomas DiBello.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Loretta; his children: Donna Lauricella and her husband James; Phillip DiBello Jr. and his wife Kim; and Diane DiBello Foley. His grandchildren: Katie Lauricella and Michael John Lauricella and his fiancée Chelsea Pirela; Kevin Foley and Andrew Foley; and Tina DiBello. Also, his brother, Andrew DiBello and his wife Elizabeth; nephews, Phillip DiBello and his wife Debra Fergus and Anthony DiBello and his wife Julie and cousins, Andrew Zizolfo, John Zizolfo and Anthony Zizolfo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's RC Church 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755.
