Robert T. Gribbon

Robert T. Gribbon, age 82, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2012 at home. He was born in New York, NY on July 28, 1930 and was the son of the late Florence and Frank Gribbon. Mr. Gribbon was a resident of Lakewood, NJ for over 13 years. He was a graduate of Fordham University. Prior to retirement, he served as a Senior Vice President with United States Aviation Insurance Group in New York, NY. Mr. Gribbon also served in the US Army during the Korean War. Brother of the late James Gribbon, Mary Kuntz, and Florence Gribbon, he is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia E. (Leahy) Gribbon; 4 children, Carol Anderson of Red Bank, NJ, Robert E. Gribbon and his wife Susan of Hamden,CT, Stephen C. Gribbon and his wife Patricia of Floral Park, NY, and Richard Gribbon and his wife Robin of Boulder, CO; 2 brothers, Francis X. and Charles Gribbon; 10 beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Saturday in Holy Family Church, 1139 E. County Line Road, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Cremation will be private followed by inurnment at a later date in the parish cemetery.
