

Born in Passaic, he was raised in Harlem and resided in Astoria and Yonkers, NY until he moved his family to Jackson, NJ in 1963.
Prior to retiring, he was a transportation operator for Queens Transit and New Jersey Transit in Lakewood. Robert was also a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1951-1959.
He was an avid golfer and loved bowling and bocce with his leisure cronies. Robert was a member of the Elks and the American Legion. He was also a founding member of the Rocky Beaver Club and a member of the Swamy Choir of Greater NY.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa B. Jones 14 years ago.
Surviving is a son, Glenn, and his wife JoAnne; 2 daughters: Susan McLaughlin and her husband Peter, and Pamela Cirignano and her husband Thomas; 3 grandchildren: Rose Cirignano, Luke McLaughlin, and Anna Cirignano; and 2 sisters: Barbara Rowley and Carolyn Lewis.
A visitation will be held at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
