Robert "Bob" Ottmer, age 92, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Sunday March 15, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Toms River. Bob was born and raised in Union City, NJ and spent most of his adult life in Lakewood, NJ. He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany. Mr. Ottmer was the owner/ operator of both Ottmer's Saw Service and Ottmer's Iron Den both in Lakewood, NJ. He was an avid bowler and was known for his ability to make origami out of money. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Ottmer is predeceased by his wife, Carol P. Ottmer, previous wife, Ethel S. Ottmer, parents, Fred and Edith Ottmer, brothers, Roger and Roy and son, Roger C. Ottmer.
He is survived by his daughter Laura Berger and her husband Jeff, granddaughter, Ashley, three nieces a nephew and his extended step family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the D'Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Cremation will be held privately. A memorial service will be scheduled soon, please check the funeral home website for updates.
