

Rose “Bridget” Hodges, 85, passed away June 23, 2015 at her home in Lakewood. Mrs. Hodges was born and raised in the Bronx before moving to Brooklyn and finally settling in Lakewood, NJ. She earned her BA in English from Brooklyn College and served as a teacher for a number of years in Brooklyn. She is also a graduate of the Institute of Bible Studies and was a zealous born again Christian. She was an avid musician and loved playing the piano and ukulele. She also was a tap dancer and was a choreographer for the Leisure Village Talent Shows. Rose served for a period of time as the president of the Opera Club in Leisure Village. Her true passion in life was God and Jesus. Mrs. Hodges is predeceased by her first husband William Barstock and her second husband her beloved, Thomas Hodges. Rose is survived by her children Jeffrey Barstock, Susan Barstock and Philip Barstock. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 3-7 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10:30AM at the Church of Grace and Peace in Toms River. Entombment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Rose’s memory to “Feed the Children” Organization.
