

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lived there before moving to Staten Island where he resided for 28 years before settling in Lakewood nearly 20 years ago.
Salvatore had worked in the printing business for his entire life. He served his country as an Army veteran during the Korean War.
He was an avid baseball fan and played softball as well as tennis into his later years. Sal was an avid Yankees fan.
Sal is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Toro, his sons; Guy Toro and his wife, Fran, Steven Toro, and Robert Toro and his wife, Tracy; four grandchildren; Geoffrey Toro and his wife, Casandra, Gregory Toro, Matthew Toro, and Emily Rose. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Gigi Toro.
Visitation hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. Mary of the Lake R.C. Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. Interment will follow at the Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors' Project.
