Born and raised in Trenton, he resided there before moving to Hamilton Square, and finally settled in Toms River in 1996.
Prior to retiring in 1986, he was a Tax Assessor for the state of New Jersey. While living in Hamilton Twp., he was an active member and officer of the Italian American Sportsman’s Club. A resident of the Lake Ridge community in Toms River since 1996, Dave stayed very active by bowling, playing tennis, bocce and golf into his 80’s. He was also involved at the clubhouse by calling Bingo for 19 years.
As a widower, he maintained his social activities and sought out other widowers to get together for dinner, which evolved into the “Romeo’s Club.” He was then fortunate to meet Connie who inspired him with her love of travel. They spent many years traveling to Europe and other destinations. In addition, he was a volunteer for meals on wheels and a Eucharistic minister at his church, St. Mary of the Lake & Holy Family.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Myrtle, in 2005. Surviving is his son, David Palmieri; daughter, Diane Fialka and her husband Alan; a brother, Ronald Palmieri and his wife Alice; a nephew, Thomas; and 2 nieces: Denise & Beth Ann.
