Tessie R. Gindoff

Tessie R. Gindoff of Lakewood passed peacefully on September 19, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Toms River. Born to William and Sarah Berman on December 31, 1924 in Holyoke Mass were she was raised. She attended Holyoke High School and then joined the Army. This is where she met her husband Bernard. They were married on June 23rd 1946. She then moved to Lakewood and raised her own family. Mrs. Gindoff a devoted mother and doting grandmother and great grandmother dedicated her life to her family. Mrs. Gindoff did work for a time at Lane Drugs in Lakewood and Clifton Avenue School in the Cafeteria. Mrs. Gindoff enjoyed Bingo and her faithful companion Liza along with her 4 grand puppies.

Mrs. Gindoff is predeceased by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 66 years Bernard, two loving daughters and their husbands, Sue Ann and Howard Anderson and Lisa & Duane Clowes. One sister Betty Foley. A brother in law and sister in law Abe & Roz Gindoff. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 grandsons and their spouses, Michael & Linda Anderson and Brian & Joann Anderson; three great grandchildren, the lights of her life, Brennan, William & James Anderson. Mrs. Gindoff is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6-8 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
