

Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Staten Island for 33 years before settling in Fairways Community in Lakewood in November 1999.
Val was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1956-1962 and became a member of the American Legion in New York and New Jersey. He was also a wonderful handyman and could fix just about anything. Val was an avid bowler and a die-hard Met fan.
He was predeceased by his brother Vincent.
Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Elisa “Lee”; 5 children: Diane Bright, Vincent Ferraro, Brian Ferraro, Donna Samarelli, and Christine Lamantia; and 3 sons-in-law: Matthew Samarelli, Joseph Lamantia and John Isenberg; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister: Madeline Guastella; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 9:15AM at St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
