Vincent P. Cucurillo, age 79, of Lakewood NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at home holding his wife's hand. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of Frances (Buonacore) and Joseph Cucurillo.
Vinnie was the beloved husband of fifty-three years to Rosemary (Grieco) Cucurillo and the very proud father of Vincent Anthony Cucurillo. His daughter in law Sally Zhang Cucurillo was the apple of his eye.
He was predeceased by his brother Ciro (Jerry) and is survived by his two sisters, Josephine Ricker (Bunny) and Ann (Toy) Cucurillo and many nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides of the family. Vin Grieco, Peter Grieco and Bob Ricker were not only his brothers in law but his friends.
Vinnie proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam era and shared hilarious stories of his time in Panama. He would tell anyone who would listen about the rain and the spiders.
By trade, Vinnie was a printer who switched careers to work in property Management at One World Trade. In 1999 when the family relocated to West Palm Beach, he worked at the VA Hospital for almost twenty years forming lasting friendships. He was perhaps happiest returning to the Northeast and settling in Lakewood where he enjoyed reuniting with family. One of his greatest joys was decorating his Fairways home and garden for every holiday!
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 3:00pm and from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at D'Elia Funeral Home; 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
For your convenience (and because Vinnie was always ready to host a party) a buffet dinner will be served on site during the break.
In Lieu of flowers, please just give your love and laughter to all of us left behind.
