Vivian L. Peterson

Vivian L. Peterson, 86, passed away June 27, 2011 at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation Center in Lakewood. Mrs. Peterson was born in Enterprise, Alabama where she spent most of her childhood before moving to Baltimore, MD in 1948, then Toms River, NJ in 1958 and finally settling in Lakewood, NJ for the past 34 years. She was an avid poker player and was known as “Mom” to everyone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Peterson is predeceased by her three children O’Deborah Wesley, Eugene Martin and Ronnie Peterson and two grandchildren Demor Lee Weston and Martina Jackson. Vivian is survived by her daughter Tawanda Bates and her husband Faustino Gonzalez, five grandchildren, James Wesley, Terrance Wesley, Althea Wesley, Shaunita Foskey, and Ticia McCloud, and many great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends. Friends may call Friday, July 1, 2011 from 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 9:30AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, in Toms River.
