Walter “Wally” Paul Ryglicki, CPA RMA PSA, was born to John and Wanda Ryglicki (née Walasek) at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ, on 19 November 1949 as the younger brother of Joseph “Rick” J. Ryglicki. He died in the early morning hours of 3 November 2023. He is survived by his son David Ryglicki, Ph.D., and his wife Sarah, and his daughter Haley Wargacki, PMP, and her husband Stephen, his grandchildren Alexander Ryglicki and Aria Wargacki, his sister-in-law Frances Mansfield, his nephew Jonathan Ryglicki and his wife Amanda and his nephew Jason Ryglicki, J.M.C., and his wife Elizabeth, and his beloved dog Max. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Rick, and his partner of 20 years, Toni LaStella.
Walter graduated from St. Peter’s Preparatory Academy in 1967. He graduated from Holy Cross University with a degree in political science in 1971. While at St. Peter’s Prep and Holy Cross, he played football and excelled at linebacker. After graduation, he began his professional career as a history teacher at North Bergen High School before transitioning into a nearly 50 year career as a certified public account for Suplee, Clooney and Co., and Samuel Klein and Co.
Wally was known a fun-loving individual with a sharp wit who enjoyed his trips down the shore and was known as an avid golfer. He was known as a lifelong New York Giants fan and a superfan of the singer and actress Cher. He enjoyed travelling and was a connoisseur of the arts. He will be remembered by all in his professional, social, and family circles as a memorable friend.
A memorial service for Walter will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home.
