William M. Doyle

LAKEWOOD – William M. Doyle, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 5, 2013. He was the son of the late John and Regina Doyle. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Nancy T. Doyle. Beloved father of his son, William M. Doyle, II, and his wife Maureen, and daughters Daria M. Sheehan and her husband William, Marcy A. Sieminski and husband Henry, Jennifer L’Herbette and husband Bertrand, and Betsy A. Greene and husband Michael. Cherished grandfather of William Sheehan and wife Stephanie, Brian Sheehan, Jennifer Sieminski, Jeffrey Sieminski, Pauline L’Herbette, Margaux L’Herbette, Emily Greene, Sara Greene, and Christopher Greene. He is also survived by brothers: Vincent Doyle, John F. Doyle and wife Nancy, Richard Doyle and wife Gail, and sister Mary Jane Lawton and husband George. In addition to his parents, Mr. Doyle was predeceased by sisters Lorraine Weigold and Betty Berrigan.

Mr. Doyle served with the United States Army Air Corps in Europe in WWII. He attended New York University and spent his career as a salesman in the building trades. He was an active parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Church, River Edge, NJ, serving in the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts. He was one of the founders of the River Edge Swim Club. Mr. Doyle was elected Councilman and then served as Mayor of River Edge, NJ.

Mr. Doyle was born in Ansonia, CT and was a resident of River Edge, NJ before retiring to Lakewood, NJ in 1997.

Funeral mass will be held at Saint Peter and Paul Church, 129 Birch Street, Mt. Vernon, NY on Wednesday, at 11AM. Interment will follow at The Cemetery of the Holy Sepulchre, New Rochelle, NY. For more information, or to post a tribute online, please visit www.deliafuneralhome.com.
