Born and raised in Bayonne NJ, Billy (a.k.a. Spazz, Medic699) retired from a long career as a paramedic in Hudson County and most recently with MONOC in Ocean and Monmouth Counties. Billy was an avid runner in his younger days and completed the New York and Boston marathons multiple times. He loved cycling and skiing as well as classic cars, especially his Corvette! He was always quick with an entertaining story and a big smile. He was a friend to many in the village providing medical equipment and Meals on Wheels for those who were in need. He also represented the owners in the village as the Regime Chair.
Son of the late Ruth and William E. Martin; he is survived by his life partner, Deborah Kennedy; his four children, William Daniel Martin and his wife Rebecca, Kurt Christopher Martin, Sean Patrick Martin and his wife Donna, and Holly Jean Martin; a sister, Janet Martin; his step-daughters Jessica Byrd and Melissa Owen, 10 grandchildren, and several extended family members.
Due to the pandemic, his services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
A party to celebrate his life will follow in the early summer when restrictions are not as limited. Per his instruction, it will be a blast!
