

William Munden, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Health Park South in Fort Myers, FL. Mr. Munden was formerly of Maplewood, moving to Edison for 40 years and finally settling in Lake Ridge Toms River in 1995. He was a member of the men’s club, Italian culture club, and played poker on Tuesday nights. William served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany with the Second Armored Calvary. For many years, William worked for Miller Cadillac in Rahway, retiring in 1997. He was proud to celebrate his 60th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Patricia in last December.
He was a devoted father to his children, Susan Baur, William P. Munden, and Lynn De Cristofaro, he was equally fond of their spouses. He is survived also by his eight grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas and Cara De Cristofaro, Christopher, Michael and Joseph Baur, Cynthia, and Michelle Munden. Sadly, he will miss the birth of his first great-grandchild in June. He was loved by friends and family alike and will be missed by all.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood. Interment will take place at Brigadier General William C.
