

Albert Brooks was born April 14, 1927 in San Augustine, Texas. He was born to the union of Rainy Brooks and Fronie Nash Brooks. He grew up in San Augustine and was educated in the public schools there. He accepted Christ as his Savior and united with Reed Chapel Baptist Church. In 1945 he moved to Galveston, Texas. He was employed at the Cotton Compress for a number of years. After moving to Texas City to live with his sister, Girlie Greer, he united with First Baptist Church in Texas City. In his later years, he was a resident of Ashton Parke Care Center in Texas City. He departed this life August 3, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rainy and Fronie Brooks and two sisters, Jennie Brooks Barnes and Girlie Brooks Greer. Left to cherish memories of his life are his siblings, Ella Mae Turner of Hobbs, New Mexico, Anna B. Moore (Robert) of Center, Texas, Eliza J. Cartwright of Shreveport, Louisiana, Robert C. Brooks of Oakland California, Clarence Brooks (Orean) of Phoenix, Arizona and J. C. Boykins of Shelbyville, Texas; a devoted nephew, Edward Joe Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
