

Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Carol Jean Massey Lemell was born on May 31, 1958 in Yoakum, Texas to George Massey Jr. and Kitty Faye Ware Massey. Carol accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. James A. M. E. Church in Yoakum. She was very active in the church in her early years. She was educated in the public schools of Yoakum, Texas and attended Yoakum High School. Carol was united in marriage to the love of her life Jonathan Lemell. They united with Victorious Living Christian Center in League City under the pastoral leadership of Apostle Wilson Douglas, III. She was an member of the church and an Aide to the Pastor and First Lady. She loved the Lord and was a witness for Him wherever she went. Carol was a longtime employee of Johnson Space Center – DMS Custodial Services. Her loving spirit and warm smile will forever be in the hearts of those who loved her. On December 21, 2016, Carol departed this earthly life and entered her eternal rest in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, Geroge Massey Jr.; granddaughter, Joy Lumpkin; and brother-in-law, Michael McGaskey. Left to cherish memories of her Christian Life and values are her devoted husband, Jonathan Lemell; her children, Kevin Massey, Deanna Hines and husband, Gregory Hines and Leosha Massey; her loving mother, Kitty Faye Massey; sisters, Sandra Ann Hardaway, Glenda Sue Ford and husband, George Ford Sr., Florence Marie Flowers-Jenkins and husband, Juarez Jenkins; LaFaye Porter and husband, Willie Porter Sr. and Jacqueline McGaskey, who stayed by her side until the end; her grandchildren, Kyara, Kelvis, DeAndre, Dashun, Darius, Jazzym, Nathaniel, Kaichelyn, Bryson and Gracie; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
