

Clifford C. Walker, fondly known as "C. C." of Texas City passed into his eternal rest on June 28, 2016 at his home. Clifford was born in Bristow, Oklahoma.He was educated and graduated from the public schools of Oklahoma. After moving to Texas, Clifford lived in Houston before making his home in Texas City. Clifford acknowledged his belief in Christ and was baptized in the Baptist Church. After moving to Texas City he united with McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church in La Marque under the leadership of the late Rev. Andrew Brown.Over the years, Clifford has been a dutiful and dedicated member of the church serving under the various pastors. He was a member of the Administrative Council, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Sunday School, United Methodist Men, Trustee and was a member and President of the Senior Usher Board for many years. He was also instrumental in organizing the Boy Scout Troup at the church.Clifford was employed at Amoco in Texas City as an Operator. He retired after 32 years of loyal service. After his retirement, you could find him working around the church, traveling with his wife and having coffee with his buddies at Jack in the Box in La Marque. He was a former member of Amity Lodge #4 F&AM - Prince Hall Affiliation; Winn Consistory 32nd Degree Masons - Scottish Rite Bodies and El Katif Temple #85 Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.Clifford was a gentle man and spoke few words, but his wisdom was like none other. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. Walker and Hattie Ferguson Walker; and sisters, Azalee Simmons and Juanita Morris.Left to cherish memories of his life are his loving, devoted wife and best friend, Virginia Walker; his children, Sonja Walker and Killecia Henderson (Frank Jr.); one grandson, Christian Henderson; a sister, Mattie Herbert; his Godchildren, Chrissy Lee and Kelli Joiner; and a host of devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
