Dianna Jean Speaker

A visitation for Dianna will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 9:55 AM at GREATER ST MATTHEWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 6333 HWY 6, HITCHCOCK, TX 77563, followed by a funeral service from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Dianna will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery , Galveston, TX.

Dianna Jean was born to Ruben and Maedell Provo in Galveston, Texas on October 2, 1945. She was raised and educated in Galveston. She was a proud Central High School Bearcat graduating with the Class of 1964.

As her family grew she relocated to La Marque to raise her family. Dianna was a helper by nature. She was blessed to find a job doing what she enjoyed doing helping others. She was a dutiful employee of La Marque Independent School District until her retirement in 2015.

She faithfully served with the Senior Saints of Greater St Matthews Baptist Church. She looked forward with joy to the fellowship of the seniors, all the special outing and activities they would do.

Family was everything to Dianna. She leaves those she loved which includes family and friends with lots of happy and loving memories.

Dianna Jean Speaker transitioned from her earthly life to receive her eternal life’s reward on October 21, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Maedell Provo; sisters, Emma Dell Adams, Mary June Phillips and Shirley Darden.

Her beautiful life memories will live on in the hearts of her beloved family, loving companion, Johnny “Slick” Henderson; caring sister, Florence Jackson; six wonderful children, Alicia Mason, Ruben Provo (Yolanda), James Speaker (Monique), Zelda Sam (Ronald Sr.), Zelt Speaker, Jr. (Ana) and Dianna Mae Speaker; a special grandson, Ronald Sam, Jr.; a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of close friends.
