

Franklin Delon Douglas, fondly known as "Frank", "Cowboy" or "Pop" was the oldest of six children born to John and Ocie Pace Douglas on April 28, 1934 in Walker County, Texas. Frank departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home with his loved ones at his side. Frank was educated in Wesley Grove School and graduated from Sam Houston High School in Huntsville, Texas. He furthered his educated by attending College of the Mainland in Process Technology. Frank moved to Galveston County in the 1960's where he worked as a Laborer (Local 116) and an Operator @ GAF Corporation where he retired. After retirement he worked for DeLeon Trucking Company/Baulch Sandpit. He was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church where he served on Usher Board #2 until his health began to fail. He also was a Sunday School attendee; served on the food committee and did odd jobs around the church. He loved horses and livestock. A true Cowboy in his heart. Frank was like by anyne who met him. He spoke like a lion, but was as gentle as a lamb, always willing to help anyone. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Clara Johnson; his father and mother, John and Ocie Douglas; and one brother, Stanford Douglas. He leaves a legacy of love for his wife, Gladys Douglas of Texas City; daughters, Verna Dean Douglas of Texas City and Elizabeth Flenaugh and husband, Jonathan Flenaugh; son, Charles Douglas and wife, Christian Douglas; two granddaughters, Angela Douglas and Alicia Johnson of Texas City; two sisters, Rosa McGowan and Mary C. Hightower of Huntsville; two brothers, Johnnie Douglas and wife, Asalee Douglas of Huntsville and James T. Douglas of California; three grandsons, Charles, Chadrick and Chason Douglas all of Texas City; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Patricia Cotton of Texas City; six brothers-in-law, John Wyatt of Texas City, Rev., Nora Wyatt and Wife Eura Wyatt of Hartford, Connecticut, Jerry Wyatt and wife, Alma Wyatt of Missouri City, Texas, Rev. Michael Wyatt of Texas City, Rev. Gregory Wyatt and wife Elaine of Victoria and Grayline Wyatt of Texas City; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
