Jessie Mae Hampton

Jessie Mae (Evans) Hampton was born on December 13, 1942 in Rosa, Louisiana and she departed this world on May 19, 2016. Her family nick name was “Bae Bae” and she was one of seven children. Jessie was employed as a transportation driver for the Galveston Independent School District, the La Marque ISD and then with Connect Transit. She retired from transportation services after 25 plus years of service. She was an active and faithful member of Living Word Bible Church, Texas City, TX for many years. She loved to praise God and sing about her love for his amazing grace. She is survived by her beloved husband, Amos Hampton of 50 years; three daughters, Betsy Hampton (Jay), Amy Gregory (Karl), Theresa Hampton; one son, Danny Swannegan (Samantha); three grandchildren, Dancia Lott, Darrius Swannegan, Damien Swannegan; two great grandchildren (twins) Amandha and Averick Rodriguez; one sister, Genelle Simmons and brother, Milton Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Addis Evans; two sisters, Cora Evans and twin sister, Jessie Lee Evans; two brothers, Johnny Evans and Raymond Evans. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
