

Jimmie Lee Taylor Jr. was born September 18, 1948 in Galveston, Texas to the union of Jimmie Lee Taylor Sr. and Velma Louise Nikerson Taylor. At an early age, Jimmie was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas by the late Pastor P. H. Hinton. Jimmie was educated in the public schools of La Marque, Texas and was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Marines and served his three year tour of duty until his honorable discharge. After moving to La Marque he united with his family at Greater Bell Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed as an Operator at Amoco Chemical and later as a Mail Carrier with the United States Postal Service on Tiki Island. Jimmie departed this life February 9, 2015 at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City at the age of 66. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Lee Taylor, Sr and Velma Louise Taylor. Left to cherish memories of his life are his daughters, Tasha Kiel and Tonya Caligone Collins (Lester); his siters, Velma L. Spencer, Lee Anna Taylor Garrett, Lois Wilson; his brother, Otis Lawrence; 4 grandchildrenKyana Taylor, Kerrick Taylor, Taryn Collins and Trinity Collins; and a host of family members and friends.
