

Johnny Lynn Washington began his earthly journey on May 15, 1950 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born to the union of Booker T. Washington and Niner Marie Washington.Johnny was educated in the public schools of La Marque, Texas where he attended Lincoln High School. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City under the leadership of the late Pastor M. C. Bridges. His golden voice could be heard on Sunday mornings at church when he sang with his beloved Male Chorus, Sanctuary Choir and worked in the Brotherhood. Johnny received his certification in Auto Mechanics, ACE and Paint and Body Work. He was owner of Johnny's Garage for many years.Johnny loved the Lord and accepted his call to the ministry under the leadership of the late Pastor M. C. Bridges at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He served as an Associate Minister of the church.After his life's work had been fulfilled, Johnny again answered the call of his Heavenly Father, this time to come home and rest. He departed this earthly life on November 30, 2016 in Galveston, Texas. Awaiting his heavenly arrival were his parents, Booker T. and Niner Marie Washington; and brother, Lewis Charles Washington.Left to cherish memories of his life are his children: Bodrick Felder, TaKisha Washington Burnett (Willie Burnett), Tiffany Washington, Joylynn Washington, Johnae Long, Jaime Long, Johnny Washington, Jr., Joneisha Washington, Ke'Aja Garrett, Jayden Washington and Jeramias Washington; his Godchildren, Rosalyn Holt, Demetria Lee (Donald Ray), Charles Aldridge III and Keith Eskridge; sisters, Opal Rusk and Margie Washington; brothers, Charles "Chick" Washington and Melvin Washington; his grandchildren, Reeno Green, Dealon Irvin, Phoenix Felder, Mar'Kayla Rucker, Lun'Don Belle, Taytiana Felder, Jacey Long, Adriana Johnson, Deandre Johnson, Bodrick Felder Jr., Davyn Allen, Famous Washington and Emoree Abdel Azim; special friends, Kenneth Nance, Dr., Emma Green, Sister Jenkins, Mary Felder Oliver (former wife), Ms. Janice and Johnny Gordon; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
