“God's timing we may not understand, but His love guides our faith." Oh, what a wonderful day, November 23, 1998, a handsome baby boy made his presence into this world, to proud parents, Edward Darnell Allen and LaKeisha Rochelle Feast whom they lovingly named Joshua Jontelle. He was welcomed into a loving large family and he grew up surrounded with love.
With the blessing of being raised in a Christian home; at the age of six, Joshua was sitting in church with his great-grandmother and great grandfather and told his, “Grandma, I want to be baptized”. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He loved family time and playing with all of his cousins. He shared a special bond with his siblings. Josh’s life was enriched by the role of his bonus dad, Tahara Goins Sr., who always treated him as a son.
Joshua, who was called Josh by both family and friends, was educated in the La Marque Independent School District (TCISD) where he made lifelong friends. He attended Simms Elementary School, La Marque Middle School, and La Marque High School. His high school culminated at Hitchcock High School. But he always remained a proud “Cougar” for life.
Josh was a person who had a love for life, especially for his family and friends. He loved boxing, reading, and enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his children. He was full of love and laughter. He had an energetic personality. If you were privileged to have known him, you knew what type of person he was. Memories are etched in the minds of all who knew and loved him.
Now that Josh has gone home and his worldly light has been extinguished, one truth is unwavering – his' light remains with all of us. Waiting in heaven to greet him as he made his arrival were his grandparents, Leonard Terry and Marilyn Elaine Feast; great-grandfathers, James Moore, Edward Murphy and Nolbert Feast; great-grandmothers, Velma Ferguson and Hattie Feast; aunt, Brenda Moore-Hawkins; uncle, Larry Moore, his father through marriage (bonus dad), Tahara Goins Sr.; special friend/brother, Thairin Walker Jr., and other loved ones.
Although he will be profoundly missed, he leaves in God’s care; his beloved mother; LaKeisha Feast- Goins; father, Edward Allen; children; Alayah Feast, and Joshua Feast, Jr.; siblings, Taryn Walker, Kenyesha Bourgeois, Tahara Goins Jr., Quentin Allen and Joseph Allen; grandparents, Diane Allen and Kenneth Humphry; great-grandmother, Nita Moore; God parents, Donald Spry, Jr., and Kenia Moore; God siblings, William Chapman, Semaj Henderson, Ellishae Butler, and Kasharee Davis; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
