

Lewis T. Adams Sr. was born January 5, 1923 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas to the late John Adams and Gertrude Morris Adams. Fondly known as "Uncle Sonner" or "L.T.", Mr. Adams was attended Buckville School in Hallsville, Texas and attended the Church of Christ in Hallsville. After moving to Texas City in 1946, he was employed with Hoffman Lumber. He worked there until his retirement. In 1992, he made Hitchcock, Texas his home. On December 31, 2012, God called his child, L. T. Adams, Sr. home to rest. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dock Adams and sisters, Rachael Walker, Josephine Harrison, Mandy Bonner and Pearline Adams. Left to cherish memories of his life are his children, Lewis T. Adams, Jr. and Helen Francis (Morris); a devoted friend, Mrs. Rena Mae Knight; a sister, Hattie Scott; a sister-in-law, Ella B. Adams; extended family, Roy Hoffman and family; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
