

Lucille Edmond Sanders was born May 7, 1943 in Delhi, Louisiana to the Leon Edmond and Alice Richardson Edmond. She was the third daughter and fifth child of nine children born to this union. Lucille accepted Christ at an early age and attended Antioch new Day Holiness Church in Texas City. She was then a dedicated member of the Bridge of Hope Church in Texas City for many years. Lucille worked and retired from UTMB. During Lucille's fruitful life, she was affectionately called "Momma" by many close friends. She was a beacon light to all. She always helped every person who called on her. She was always there to listen, give sound advice and extend a shoulder when needed to cry on. In keeping with her marriage covenant, Lucille was the faithful wife of Brockman Sanders until his departure from this earth. On January 22, 2012 God said "Well Done Lucille, as He and took her Home to Glory. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Alice Edmond, two brothers, Rufus Lee Edmond and George Edmond a niece, Mary Jean Edmond and nephew, Earnest Gamble Jr. She leaves to cherish the memories of her life, her children, Henry Ray Mack (Kazuko), Orrester (Duk) Johnson (Cynthia), Juanita Hall and Steven Johnson; eight grandchildren; six sisters, Verdia Thomas, Nettie Lee Allen, Modell Jones, Estell Johnson, Ester Gamble and Shirley Bradberry; her closest and dearest nieces, Jeanette Washington, Betty Parker and Joyce Allen, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
