

Remembering Our Mother Our beloved mother Mary Ann Francis was born August 15, 1947 to the late T. Roy and Gloria B. Solomon Young in Timpson, Texas. Mary Ann was a graduate of Lincoln High in 1965, she also attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Where she met and later married John Francis Jr. From this union three daughters were born, Andrea Johnelle Richardson (Thomas Sr.), Tiffany Nicole Francis, and Dionza Rochelle Francis. As a youth she was baptized and was a member of Greater Bell Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City. Our mother served faithfully on the usher board at Greater Morning Star Missionary Church in Houston, Texas for many years. She later moved back to LaMarque, Texas and became a member of New Hope Bible Baptist Church and served as an usher as well. Mary Ann was employed with K mart Corporation. She went back to school to further her education after which she was employed with Verizon Wireless and later was medically retired. Our mother stood on the word of God. She was the cornerstone of our family and she expressed her love for us in a way that was undeniable. Our mother possessed strength no like other. To know her was to love her. She was the epitome virtuous woman. She was a DEVOTED grandmother to Odyessey and Thomas Jr., Altanesha and Jaylon, Ashley, Christian, Aundreaus, Thomas III and Angel who preceded her in death. On February 17, 2015, God called our beloved mother home to be with him. Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory her husband, devoted daughters and her grandchildren; her siblings: Leroy Young (Sheila), Carrie Steen Bennett, Johnny Ray Young (Lettie), and Virginia Walker (Clifford). She also had two God children Shanye' and Fleeton. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her sister, Alberta Aaron and brother-in law, Clifford Aaron. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family members and friends who will cherish the memories of her legacy.
