

Hearise Price Davis was born June 26, 1927 in Leigh, Texas to Henry Price and Georgia Russell Price, the seventh of eight children. She attended Leigh public schools, graduated from Carver High School and attended cosmetology school earning her license from the State of Texas. She was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas joining in 1958. She had a beautiful soprano voice and ministered to lots of people with her gift by singing in the choir and leading spiritual songs. Her life was immersed with Rising Star M. B. C., she was totally supportive of the church participating in activities ranging from annual days, choir, circle, mission, prayer meeting, Sunday school, institutes, revivals to serving at South Texas District Association State and National Meetings. She was faithful in her commitment and could be counted on for her unwavering loyalty and devotion to the church. She worked as a cashier at A.L. Bogatto’s Supermarket and as a telephone switchboard operator for Monsanto Chemical Co. from which she retired after 10 years in 1986. On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, our beloved Hearise Davis received her reward of eternal rest at Memorial Hermann Hospital Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in her journey by her husband Loyce Davis, parents Henry Price and Georgia Russell Price and seven siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories loving and devoted children, son Cleveland Washington (Angie) of La Marque, Texas; daughters Barbara Hamilton (Charlie) of Missouri City, Texas and Dr. Paulette Davis Gadison of Pearland, Texas, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10a.m. to 12p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City Texas. Celebration of Life Services will be 12:00p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, 302 N. Oak in Texas City, Texas with the Rev. Dr. D. N. Benford, Sr., officiating. Interment will be held promptly at 9:00a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. in Houston, Texas 77038.
