Rachel Oatis Scott

On April 4, 2013, our lovely Angel went to be with the Lord. She was born on June 30, 1969 to Mr. Paul Oatis and Mrs. Hazel Oatis. Rachel graduated from Dickinson High School in 1987. She then attended College of the Mainland for two years and got her degree in Food and Nutrition. With the degree she went on to be Manager at Galveston ISD Central Middle School for 15 years. She later went to work for Clear Creek ISD as Area Supervisor for 5 years until her health began to fail. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in La Marque. Rachel is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Oatis; brother, Paul Oatis, Jr.; grandmother, Mary Long; grandfather, C. C. Long; uncle, Robert Long and aunt, Bessie Mae Abraham. She is survived by her children, Ms. Tia Hamilton and Nia Scott; her father and step-mother, Paul and Delores Oatis; sisters, Annette Jenkins (Clarence) and Glenda Holmes (Bill); brother, Paul P. Oatis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
