Raquel Gonzalez Cavada was born in a little town in Mexico named Los Ramones in the state of Nuevo Leon. Being the oldest of ten siblings, she learned at an early age the importance of family. As her family grew, she and her family migrated from Mexico to California where she continued to prosper and grow. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Mr. Rodolfo Cavada and soon moved to Texas where she created a home for the rest of her life.
During a visit for a Christmas play she found her second home in a little church in the corner of Ave. K and 16th Street in Galveston, Mt. Sinai of CLADIC where she was a loyal servant for close to 50 years. She planted her roots in that church, earned the love and respect of her brothers and sisters in Christ, guided the youth, helped build the congregation, and help spread the word of God. She was fierce in her love and loyalty to the Lord and she was always willing to work hard to serve him.
Throughout her life she always managed to find ways to grow and prosper, never giving up and always working hard. She felt a need to take care of those who could not care for themselves and learned to be a Home Health Provider. She dedicated her time and energy to earn her patients respect and friendship. And through both of her professional career and her Christian career she always made sure to love and cherish her family.
Mrs. Cavada was preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo Cavada, son Guadalupe Cavada; parents Alfredo Gonzalez and Guillerma Garza Gonzalez.
She is survived by her loving daughter Raquel “Rachel” G. Cavada; siblings Mary Frias & her family, Rosalinda “Rose” Gonzalez, Leonel Gonzalez, and Guillermina “Maime” Welden & her family; along with many nieces and nephews.
