

Betty J. Azbell, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Pickering House. She was born on December 13, 1933, to the late William R. Coakley and Anna Louise Garlinger in Hocking County, Logan, Ohio. Betty loved to decorate outdoors for all to see and enjoy.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Robert) Kistler; two grandchildren, Kelly (Paul) Shoemaker and Ryan (Kerrie) Kistler; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Shoemaker, Evan Shoemaker, Karson Kistler, Levi Kistler, and Parker Kistler; two brothers, John Wayne Coakley and Larry Coakley; sister, Linda Patton; sister-in-law, Donna Coakley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Azbell; siblings, Joann Coakley, Janice Denney, Mary Jeffery, William Coakley Jr. and Stanley Coakley.
Betty had friends she would like to thank for their love and kindness; Kitten Birch, Linda and John Vest, Mary Ann Tigner, and Susan Later.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at FairHope Hospice.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 10AM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Paul Wymer officiating. Burial to follow at Stukey Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5PM-8PM at the FUNERAL HOME.
