

Carol Boden (Martin) age 80, of Lancaster passed away in her home at Roxton Ravine on August 30th, 2026 with her loving husband of 54 years by her side. She was born to her parents Pearl & Leathie Martin in their home in June 1946. She met her husband to be David while both were working at Diamond Power Specialty Corp in 1969, they were married 3 years later. Carol was a working girl, starting her first job right out of high school and working until she retired in in 2008. She was employed in management at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. later AT&T taking an early retirement from there. Later working for an investment firm, a CPA company and St Mary’s School, which she would say was her most favorite job ever because of the children. After relocating to Concord Twp. Ohio in 1997 she became bored with being a homemaker and took a job working for the Concord Twp. Community Center from which she retired in 2008. In addition, to Concord, she made homes for Dave and her in Aberdeen, SD and Enterprise, AL where she still had good friends that she continued to visit and communicates with often. Carol loved to travel and see new places, historical sights and to meet new people. She had visited all states east of the Mississippi River and most of the ones west, in addition to Canada, Mexico, England and Scotland. Many great memories were made. She was also a big sports fan following the Lancaster Golden Gales, The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Bengals & Browns as well as the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. Carol is survived by her loving husband David, brothers and wives Vance & Cassandra Martin of Stoutsville and Ronald & Pamela Martin of Amanda. Brothers-in-Law and wives James & Jeanne Boden, Chesterfield, MO. Jack & Jan Boden, Omaha, NE and Richard & Sharon Boden Lancaster. In addition numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great, Great Nieces and Nephews who she loved to spend time with. She was predeceased by Brothers Melvin and Ray and Sister Joyce. We would like to thank caregivers from Six Roses Home Healthcare and Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care for the care they provided Carol. The Family will receive friends from 11 to 1 pm Saturday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, followed by a service at 1:00PM. A private family burial at The Locust Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Creola, OH. will follow. Donations may be made in her name to Fairhope Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. 282 Sells Rd.
