

Carolyn A. Kemmerer passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 at Lanfair Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 17, 1942 to Devon and Esther (Graf) Tipple in Lancaster and spent her entire life in this community. She was a 1960 graduate of Lancaster High School after which she began her career in business. She first worked at Diamond Power and concluded her career with the City of Lancaster where she worked in the court system. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Business Women’s Association following in the footsteps of her mother.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of over forty years, Larry Kemmerer and her sister, Sharon Brown. She is survived by her children Tari S. Thimmes (David) of Lancaster, Scott E. Baker (Melanie) of Rushville, 3 grandchildren, Christopher Thimmes (Erin), Abbigail Baker and Lizzibeth Baker. Also surviving are her sister, Donna Eaton of The Villages, Florida, brother-in-law, Albert Brown of Lombard, Illinois, many cousins and nephews.
Carolyn will be remembered for her courage and fortitude and how during adversity she continued to stay in touch with friends and relatives and to be a part of her community whenever possible. Much love and gratefulness are extended to the Lanfair Nursing Facility and Absolute Hospice for the care they have provided and to the many friends and family who visited often to brighten her days.
Visitation at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home will be on Thursday, August 21st at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m., Kathleen Kisner, Associate Pastor, of Lancaster First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, or to a favorite charity in her memory.
