David Michael Hettinger, 63 of Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 at his residence. David was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 17th, 1957 to the late Clyde and Maxine Hettinger. David served in the Army National Guard for 23 years and had recently worked for Anchor Hocking Glass. He was known by many at Anchor Hocking as “Papa Boo” and was seen as a father figure by many people that he had worked with. David enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling. He was also a skilled wood worker and loved his family dearly.
David is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son, Michael Sean (Stormy) Hettinger; grandchildren, Cherokee May Hettinger and Cheyanne Rose Hettinger; great-grandchildren, Amari Hettinger, Oden Ford, Lilianna May Ford, and Kaden Michael Hettinger; sisters, Marcia Eckard and Georgeanne Ward; brother, Steve (Vicki) Hettinger; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st, 2020 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens at 1:30PM with Pastor Paul Wymer officiating. Burial is to take place with Military Honors.
