Donald R. Bowman, 88 of Lancaster, passed away Monday June 11, 2012 at the Pickering House. Born on April 27, 1924 in Pickaway County, Ohio to the late Milton H. and Grace V. (Stebleton) Bowman. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and sang with the choir for 65 years. Don and Betty owned the Bowman Egg Farm giving Don the nickname “Egg Man”. He retired from Cyrll-Scott/OneWrite Company after 21 years.
Survived by wife of 63 years, Betty A. (Holcomb) Bowman, his children, daughters, Dana (Steven) Shouldis of Lancaster and Jill (Dorian) Richards of Carroll, son, Mark (Terri) Bowman of Pickerington; grandchildren, Abby Bowman, Melissa (Bryce) Burton, Alex Shouldis and Scott Shouldis; sister Vera Kraft; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville. Visitation will take place 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and one hour Friday before the service at the church.
