Dorothy A Golden

Dorothy A. Golden, 76, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 16, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center. Dorothy was born April 5, 1940 in Athens, OH. Dorothy was employed by Rose-Keller-Hedges Insurance for 25 years. Jim and Sharon Hedges, her employers, became her good friends. Mom was happiest spending time with her family, working in her garden and taking care of her flowers. She loved collecting shells and going to Farmer’s Markets at the beach. Mom was a gold star member of the mom, grandma, grammy, sister and aunt club.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and her parents.

Dorothy is survived by her children, daughter, Robin Barber and sons Mark Golden and Jeff (Denise) Golden; grandchildren Jenna (Rodney) Johnston, Miranda (Ryan) Kiger, Curtis (Will) Golden and Dalton Golden; great grandchildren, Cohen, Connor, Carson, Colton and Trevor; brothers, LeRoy (Ann) Chapman, Dennis (Karla) Chapman; sister, Kathy (Bob) Myers; sister-in-law Shirley (George) McGill; many friends, nieces and nephews; and special longtime friend, Janice Appel. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Sielski for his great care and dedication over the years.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Roger Quay officiating. Burial will follow in Canaanville Cemetery Athens. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Colton’s Fund in care of Miranda Kiger, 304 Madison Avenue, Lancaster, OH 43130 to offset his continuing medical needs for Cystic Fibrosis.
