Dorothy E Willis

Dorothy E. Willis, 96 of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015. Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster. She was a self-taught painter who loved painting flowers and mountain scenery. She and her husband traveled extensively around the United States and Europe. In her later years she was an avid reader and enjoyed a good joke. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by: sisters, Veneta Thropp, Lancasteer, Ruth Van Winkle (Pantego, TX); nephews, Randalll Thropp (Los Angeles, CA), Gary Thropp (Houston, TX), Craig Van Winkle (Arlington,TX), Robert (Jo Ellen) Leget, (Medina, OH), nieces, Wenonah Wright (Cleveland, OH), Laura Thropp (Houston, TX); and caregiver, Sue Kagey.

Preceded in death by: husband, Paul W. Willis; parents, George and Edith Wilson; sister, Lucille Allen; and dear friend, Rose Bierly.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
