We will cherish the memories of us as a family, the smiles and the laughter over the years. I'm so sorry that you have lost a Dad and Pap. He loved you all very much and was a great Dad and Pap to you too. Life for us will never be the same, but God will be with us on this journey to have great memories of us as a Family. I pray that God will give you strength during this time and that you will feel his love each day . I love you all very much and want you all to know that time will heal our hurts that we have had to endure and God will never leave us in all of this.

As I start to pack for my trip home to Seattle I am overwhelmed by all the kind words shared by so many people. Doug was truly an amazing man. His life has been taken earlier than expected and he will be missed by many. I would like to thank the Violet Township Fire department, friends and family for all their support. The stories shared by so many made this situation a little easier to get through. I can't put in to words how much I'm going to miss you Doug. I love you very much. Your Brother........Brad
