

Edward H. Konkler Jr., 87 of Lancaster, left this life and entered eternal life on Friday, September 23rd, 2016. He was the son of Edward H. Konkler Sr. and Martha (Myers) Konkler. He was born on July 26, 1929.
He was a man of generosity and a willingness to help anyone who needed it.
He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier. He worked at North American Rockwell and later retired from Anchor Hocking Plant 2.
He was a wonderful and creative carpenter, as well as the consummate handyman. There was nothing he couldn't do or could not fix. He helped build many houses in Lancaster and helped rebuild the Country Church at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. His talents were many and his accomplishments too many to count. He fought MDS (Myelo Dyplastic Syndrome) with all he had. He was the strongest man we've ever known. He is cherished and will be so missed by his children.
He is survived by his daughters: Kathy (Konkler) Finley and her children: Angela, Gabrielle and Benjamin. Daughter, Linda (Konkler) Morgan and her sons: Christopher (Jason), Anthony (Rachel), Patrick (Mary) and Jereme; son: Doug (Sherrie) and his children: Brandy (Richard) Salyers and Todd Konkler; and 11 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his companion, Esther Cannon and his siblings: Genevieve, Jerome, and Julia. As well as his four legged buddy, Taylor.
Calling will be held at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral will be held Wednesday September 28th at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Full military burial rites will be observed at Floral Hills Memory Garden. Contributions can be made in his memory to the Fairfield Area Humane Society.
