It has always been a joy to see Mr. and Mrs. Ramey. I have always thought Mrs. Ramey was as cute as a button with a movie-star smile. And she was always so very, very nice.
Mr. Ramey was lucky that she chose him. :-)
My deepest sympathies to the family.

Just one more warm memory, in this season of Christmastide. Having been a frequent guest of the Ramey household, by far, one of my favorite memories would be coming in the side porch door and seeing stacks of Tupperware and other containers filled with so many types of Christmas cookies and treats. You would smell the season in that little side porch for days. Of course, tasting it was the obvious treat — but the memory is covered in the smell and overflow of Esther’s Christmas spirit in that little side porch.

Though I didn’t know the words to describe Esther (as a teenage best friend of her daughter [Donna]), except to know that she was beautiful. . . those words come easily now. Esther had so many virtues but it was her gentle, humble and kind spirit that seemed to calm everything around her. Even when we may have gotten rowdy, she somehow quieted an entire gaggle of girls with a soft spoken voice using very few words. My heart aches for my dearest friend, Donna and Ron, Dianna, Debbie, Doug and Darla. She was a special lady who had an extra measure of His grace. Peace be with you all.
Love, Leah
