Floyd E Moury

Floyd E. Moury, 91, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 in his home in Lancaster. He is survived by many nieces and nephews: Cecelia Banfield, Becky Dupler Takyi, John Sifford, Sheri (Steve) Grygier, Michelle (Mike) Haenszel, Todd (Kristyn) Moury, Kristi (Andy) Stalker, and Kim (Geoff) Hueil. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, as well as close friends Todd (Katrina) Jackson and Lester (Patricia) McCarty.

Floyd was born and raised in Sugar Grove, Ohio to John Sherman and Dora Belle (Graf) Moury. He was a 1951 graduate of Berne Union High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. Floyd spent many years throughout his life providing care for his family and friends: twin brother, Lloyd Moury, sister, Betty Slater, and lifelong friend, Jim Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: John, Sherman, Darl, and Lloyd, sisters: Mae Sifford and Betty Slater, nieces: Linda Swisher and Kay Shonk, nephews: Danny Walt and Michael Slater, and his daughter, Tammy Moury.

Funeral services will be held at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Guests may visit with the family from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the funeral home on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Floyd will be laid to rest with military honors at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens on Coonpath Road in Lancaster.

Rest in peace, Uncle Floyd. Thank you for the love, care and support you provided Mom and us over the years. I hope that you’re reuniting with Grandma, Mom and the whole Moury clan. You will be dearly missed here on earth.
