Gary Dwight Conroy

Gary Dwight Conroy, of Lancaster, OH and most recently Stevensville, MI. beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017. He was born September 3, 1943 in Springfield, OH.

Gary graduated from The Ohio State University. He was an engineer at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, Anchor Hocking in Lancaster, OH, DIS in Benton Harbor, MI and retired from KIK Corporation. Gary enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, going to air shows and of course his beloved Buckeyes. He was a cat enthusiast, avid reader, and had incredible passion for world history and the military.

Gary is survived by his wife, Joy; three sons Doug (Jami) Conroy of Georgia, Dan (Jennifer) Conroy of Wisconsin sons of Norma Jean Frear, Brett (Dani) Linsley of Michigan son of Sue Conroy and daughter Amy Barton of Florida. His 6 grandchildren, Thomas, Lindsey, Tyler, Sara, Drew, and Caytlyn. His brothers Ron Conroy and Dick (Cheryl) Matthews, sisters Diane (Marion) Loughman; Mary Conroy, Emma Conroy, best friend Dale Howell, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Gary was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Conroy and Carrie Matthews; Brothers, Bob Matthews, William Conroy, Herb Conroy; sister Carolyn Jones, brother-in-law Wayne Jones and sister-in-law Joyce Conroy.

A memorial service will be held honoring Gary on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, 436 N. Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio. The service will be officiated by Craig & Vickie Conroy.
