Geraldine Esther Carter, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Pickering House. She was born on January 30, 1934, in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Chester and Esther Mathias. Geraldine loved tending to her flowers and garden. She was a crossword puzzle master. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Melodie (John) McCrady, Todd (Cindy) Lape, Alex (Sherry) Lape; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Lape, Amber (Troy) Kellenbarger, Allyson (Bob) Huber, Alexis (Ceith) Creekmur, Abigail (Eric) Moore, and Tyler Lape; 9 great-grandchildren, and many loving extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Wilma Jean Moore; and her canine companion, Jake.
Dignity Cremation is to take place through the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home.
