
Homer Edman Beavers, 93, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in Hocking Township, Fairfield County, OH, the second of ten children of Ora E. Beavers and Freda (Clark) Beavers. Homer graduated from Lancaster High School in 1947. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked many years at North American Aviation and also for Western-Southern Insurance Co. In 1987 he retired from the Lancaster, Ohio, Post Office after 30 years of service. He was a master carpenter having built 10 houses, including the parsonage for Faith Memorial church and the last one in 1988 where he and his wife resided until very recently. He was an active member of Faith Memorial Church, serving in several leadership positions, until his health prevented his attendance. He volunteered countless hours helping with improvements at Beavers Field in Lancaster. For many years he participated in juried craft shows selling jewelry boxes and clocks. When he was able he enjoyed gardening, travelling with his family and fishing with his grandson, Drew.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold E. Beavers, Frederick (Bud) Beavers, Paul Beavers, Evelyn Griffith, Edith Smith and Dorothy Shahan. Homer is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Eileen Love Beavers and his three daughters and their husbands: Barbara Kim (Art) Wilson, Kathy S. (Dee) Mowry and Kindle E. (Jeffery) Evans. Homer is survived by 7 grandchildren; David Mowry, Erin Moore, Joan Ray, Abbey Wilson, Andrew (Drew) Evans, Eric Evans & Anthony Evans and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Al (Phyllis) Beavers, Vonda Searls and Shirley (George) Figgins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 27, 2021 at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8pm and Friday from 10 to 11am. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of your choice.
